Intimacy Coaching for Couples
with Somatic Sex Educator Karen Yates
Imagine a vibrant erotic life with your partner.
One where ecstatic surprises still happen…
Where communication is an adventure, not a chore…
Where you’re both able to manifest your deepest desires…
Does that sound out of reach or even impossible? It’s not!
You and your partner might have tried various intimacy exercises and given up after a few weeks. Or perhaps you’re in couples counseling and have achieved some success, but relating deeply and erotically to each other still seems unattainable.
Let me help.

Somatic sex education is a powerful method that leads to lasting change.
Somatic work is immediate and simple — but with profound results. You and your partner will be able to connect to each other and verbalize your desires – no analysis required.
Your body – magnificent in its structure – is designed to give you feedback constantly. Problem is, most of the time we override that feedback, due to the messages of culture, trauma, and upbringing. With somatic sex education, we learn how to hear our signals loud and clear! Your body becomes a true teacher and trusted ally.
Soma means “the living body in its wholeness”

Do you relate to any of the following?
“I have trouble knowing what I want in bed.”
“I go along with what my partner wants, but I don’t really enjoy it.”
“I don’t feel connected to my body.”
“I can’t communicate my desires easily and in the moment.”
“Our love life has become infrequent, uninspired, and a little boring.”
If you agreed with one or more of those statements, consider working with me in-person at my Chicago studio to develop your erotic potential.
Frequent Questions
“Is your coaching different from talk therapy?”
It’s very different. With somatic sex education we are working in the here and now with the body and getting insights and resolution in that manner. My coaching sessions are dynamic and can be a mix of exercises, education, and guiding focused bodywork with each of you as you engage with your partner.
“We already do talk therapy. Is this another long-term commitment?
While it is a commitment, it is not long term. Somatic sex education is a finite number of sessions. Typically under 10. As we work, I’ll have a sense of how many sessions will be needed and can communicate that to you. And I am happy to work as a team with any therapists you might be seeing.
“But our sex life is okay.”
Have you ever considered it could be GREAT? Really, please take a moment to consider that potential.
“I see you’re a Biofield Tuning practitioner. Do you do energy work within a session?”
Yes, if we all feel it would be beneficial. Let’s discuss that possibility.
“I’ve had a lot of trauma. Will this actually help me and my partner?”
Even though your body remembers everything, it is always changing. Somatic work can aid neuroplasticity and reset the nervous system. You are not a prisoner of the past. Working as a team, I can help you and your partner gain more insights about trauma and how to work with it on a physical level. I am happy to work with any therapists you might be seeing. Let me know when we do your free consultation!

How did I become an intimacy coach and somatic sex educator?
I’ve always been fascinated by the body’s ability to express and connect. As a performer and theater director for over 20 years, I love the visceral sense of being in my body.
Decades of 12-step work in addiction and codependency helped peel back layers, and in 2015, after a period of awakening, I fully embraced my erotic life and the joy it gives me. I then moved into the fields of sexuality and energetics. One of my lifelong core values is sexual freedom. I believe that if we could each find our personal erotic expression without shame or guilt, the world would be a happier place.

I’ve trained with some of the greatest teachers in sex education and energy work – Caffyn Jesse, sexuality author and co-founder of the Institute for the Study of Somatic Sex Education; Dr Betty Martin, developer of the revolutionary Wheel of Consent; Charles Muir, Tantra master, and one of the first people to bring Tantra to the west; and Eileen McKusick, the innovative founder of Biofield Tuning.
Through my successful inclusive sex talk show and podcast, Wild & Sublime, where I speak to numerous sex experts and connect with audiences, I know that we all want ease in our sex life. We want to learn how to voice our sexual truths. We want to know ourselves.
